Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL) continues to have a place in the indoor growing world as it is fulfills a specific purpose for many growers. While the output of CFL's is not the greatest, they do produce less heat and consume less power than their HID counterparts and unlike LEDs, they won't break the bank!
